An established and growing manufacturing business in Brisbane’s western suburbs is seeking a motivated Assistant Accountant for a new permanent role. This is a varied and hands-on role supporting a strong Finance Manager across all areas of financial accounting and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with monthly close processes including journals, prepayments, and accruals
• Prepare and maintain reconciliations across bank accounts, balance sheet items, and intercompany accounts
• Support tax compliance including BAS, FBT, PAYG and payroll tax (preparation and reconciliation)
• Maintain fixed asset registers and assist with audit requirements
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting and internal reporting
• Support manufacturing cost and inventory reporting
• Help strengthen internal controls and support continuous improvement across processes

• Minimum 2 years’ accounting experience, ideally within a product-based or project-driven environment (e.g. manufacturing, engineering, construction)
• Solid reconciliation and month-end processing experience
• Working knowledge of Australian tax requirements
• Strong Excel skills; ERP system exposure highly regarded
• A self-starter who enjoys variety, takes pride in accuracy, and is open to learning
