About the Role:
This 3
–month contract
with the possibility to extend or go permanent will be suitable for an immediately available or soon to be immediately available Assistant Accountant, who will report directly to the Finance Manager
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Prepare and post complex month-end journals, including accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Assist with the preparation of monthly management reports and financial statements for internal stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with payroll tax, BAS, and other statutory lodgements, including accurate reconciliations and timely submissions
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes by analysing variances and providing financial insights
- Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors to support year-end and tax compliance activities
- Review and maintain fixed asset registers and oversee intercompany transactions and reconciliations
About You:
- Tertiary qualifications, studying or studied CPA/CA.
- Experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Preferably construction industry
- Great attention to detail
- Good open and positive mindset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software programs
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
