Job Description:

  • Lead finance, commercial insight and corporate functions
  • Drive forecasting, cashflow, reporting, systems uplift and project finances
  • Partner closely with Directors and operational leaders
  • A privately led, values-driven construction group in Queensland is appointing a Chief Financial Officer to work closely with its Directors and General Manager. The business delivers a mix of residential, industrial, and broader construction projects and is entering a new phase of growth, scale and operational maturity.

    The role

You’ll own the financial and commercial heartbeat of the business - ensuring the organisation has the discipline, visibility and financial confidence needed to deliver projects safely, profitably and on time. This includes tightening forecasting, improving cashflow management, strengthening reporting, and giving operational leaders the clarity they need on project performance, WIP, margin and risk.

You’ll lift capability across the Finance & Administration team, sharpen systems and controls, and oversee broader corporate areas including HR, IT, compliance and office administration. At the executive table, you’ll influence decisions across operations, delivery and growth initiatives.

    Where you’ll make impact
    • Financial strategy, budgeting and three-way forecasting
    • Cashflow, funding, banking relationships, insurance and surety
    • Project financial oversight - margin, WIP, variance, commercial insight
    • Team leadership, systems, reporting improvements and uplift across Finance & Admin
    • Governance, controls, policy and corporate support functions
    • Executive-level partnership to support operational and project delivery teams
    Who this will suit

A seasoned CA/CPA with exposure to construction, design-and-construct, development or other project-based environments. Someone who enjoys partnering with operational leaders, brings commercial clarity to complex projects, and thrives in a hands-on, fast-moving, privately owned business.
