We’re currently assisting a dynamic and fast-growing national service provider to the Healthcare industry to recruit a Commercial Lawyer. This is a newly created permanent role due to extensive investment and growth plans. Hybrid work arrangements, career progression opportunities with offices based in Melbourne’s CBD.
 
The role
Reporting directly to the CFO and working closely with the broader Commercial and GM teams, this role will have a strong focus on legal reviews, risk management, and contract governance. You will oversee contract negotiations around liability, indemnity, and pricing structures/mechanisms, particularly for multi-year terms agreements.  You will also act as the key escalation point for contract-related disputes.
 
You will be the product owner of the existing contract management system and work closely with a Project Manager and Business Analyst to redesign and restructure the system ensuring optimisation in line with business requirements.
 
Skills & experience required

• Fully qualified Lawyer (LLB or JD)
• Proven background in commercial law, risk and contract management
• Strong negotiation experience
• Ability to lead legal reviews and support complex multi-party agreements
• Experience establishing governance and process frameworks
• Strong communication, stakeholder management and business partnering abilities
