    About the Role
    This role leads the end-to-end compliance function across trading, retail, and commercial partnerships, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and internal governance frameworks. You’ll oversee the compliance lifecycle - from identifying the source of obligations, through to developing controls, monitoring adherence, and providing assurance that all exposures sit within agreed limits. Working closely with senior leaders, you’ll translate complex compliance obligations into practical, business-ready strategies and ensure the business is well-prepared for both existing and emerging regulatory change.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Oversee and maintain the Energy Markets Risk governance framework, ensuring alignment with risk appetite.
    • Lead compliance planning, controls monitoring, and reporting for trading and retail functions.
    • Coordinate regulatory compliance activities, ensuring obligations are met in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to influence compliance culture.
    • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc compliance and risk reports to senior committees.
    About You
    • Proven experience in senior roles across compliance, risk management, assurance, or internal audit within a complex regulatory environment.
    • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, able to build credibility across senior leadership and operational teams.
    • Ability to manage competing priorities, coordinate multiple workstreams, and simplify complex compliance issues.
    • Experience with energy markets, financial services, or professional services highly regarded.
    • Exceptional organisational skills with a focus on delivering timely, accurate, and meaningful reporting.
