The Role:
As the Data Engineer in a high-growth financial services business, you’ll play a central role in transforming legacy data processes into efficient, scalable solutions. Working within a collaborative team, you’ll architect modern infrastructure, build robust pipelines, and enable cloud-based reporting environments. A working knowledge of existing VBA-based tools will help you understand current-state processes and guide the shift to future-state systems using platforms like Azure and Databricks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver scalable data architecture and cloud-based pipelines
• Lead the modernisation of legacy VBA and Excel-based reporting processes
• Collaborate with internal teams to understand and apply changes to data repositories
• Implement best-practice transformation, governance and performance optimisation
• Ensure data quality, consistency and security across all solutions
• Write complex SQL queries and support data migrations

• Strong experience in data engineering, architecture and integration
• Proven experience in designing and building scalable data solutions
• Familiarity with VBA and legacy Excel-based processes, with a transformation mindset
• Hands-on with cloud data solutions such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake
• Strong programming skills in R, Python or C#
• Previous experience with PowerShell and VBA
• Strong communicator who thrives in collaborative, fast-paced environments
• Financial services / funds management experience preferred
