The Role
As part of a tight-knit finance team, you’ll play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting the firm’s ongoing compliance and performance. Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing monthly financial statements in line with Australian accounting standards (AASB)
- Managing month-end and year-end close processes
- Preparing monthly billing and claims for internal and external stakeholders
- Assisting with statutory reporting and audit requirements
- Monitoring, maintaining and improving internal controls and financial procedures
- Preparing financial and management reports
- Supporting budgeting and forecasting cycles
You’ll bring a combination of technical ability and initiative, along with a willingness to pitch in wherever needed. We’re looking for someone with:
- 2-3 years’ experience in a similar Financial Accounting or Assistant Accountant role
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, statutory reporting and tax requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with modern accounting systems (Xero ideal but not essential)
- Exposure to internal controls and process improvement
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a professional services environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/ Finance
- CPA/CA qualification or working towards (preferred)
- Temp-to-perm opportunity with genuine long-term prospects
- Immediate start (before end of November)
- $50 - $60/ph + super
