A national organisation, supported by a large ASX-listed parent company, is seeking a proactive Financial Accountant to join its collaborative and fast-paced finance team. About the Role
This is a hands-on, varied role ideal for someone who enjoys both the technical and commercial aspects of finance. Working closely with senior finance leaders and key operational stakeholders, you’ll be involved in everything from month-end reporting to system improvements and audit support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the preparation of monthly financial reports and analysis
• Manage general ledger reconciliations and journal entries
• Support the month-end close process, working to set deadlines
• Prepare and lodge statutory returns including BAS and FBT with external advisors
• Assist with Work-In-Progress (WIP) reporting and review
• Maintain the fixed asset register and assist in branch-level asset audits
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and year-end processes
• Support cash flow reporting and daily monitoring activities
• Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring compliance and accuracy
• Help drive improvements in core finance processes across AP, AR, Payroll, and Inventory
• Participate in finance system upgrades and UAT

• Degree-qualified in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
• Part or fully CA/CPA qualified (support available if not yet complete)
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and statutory reporting requirements
• Experience in a similar Financial Accountant or Assistant Accountant role
• Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with financial/ERP systems
• Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and a proactive mindset
• Experience in an audit environment or with Work-In-Progress reporting is advantageous
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
