A nationally operating organisation is seeking a Financial Accountant to join its Brisbane based finance team.
Supporting a diverse portfolio of operations, the business continues to evolve and invest in its finance capability, with a strong focus on reporting quality, stakeholder support and continuous improvement. The finance team works closely with the broader business, creating an environment that offers variety, visibility and exposure beyond traditional financial accounting responsibilities.
The Role
This role offers a broad mix of financial reporting, stakeholder engagement and portfolio responsibility within a collaborative team environment.
You’ll take ownership of a portfolio of accounts and reporting activities, supporting both operational and finance stakeholders while ensuring financial information is delivered accurately and on time. The position offers a balance of hands on accounting responsibilities alongside opportunities to contribute to process improvements and wider team initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and reviewing monthly management accounts and financial reporting outputs
- Completing balance sheet reconciliations, accruals and financial schedules
- Supporting budgeting and forecasting activities
- Preparing reporting packs and delivering variance analysis and commentary
- Assisting with cashflow reporting and indirect tax activities
- Working closely with stakeholders to support financial performance discussions
- Contributing to process improvements and reporting enhancements
- Supporting and collaborating with the wider finance team where required
About You
You’re a motivated accountant who enjoys taking ownership of your work and building strong relationships across a business. You’re comfortable balancing reporting requirements with stakeholder interaction and enjoy working in an environment where no two days look exactly the same.
You’ll bring:
- CA or CPA qualification (or currently working towards)
- Experience in a Financial Accountant, Assistant Accountant or similar accounting role
- Strong capability across reconciliations, reporting and financial analysis
- Exposure to budgeting and forecasting activities
- Strong Excel skills and confidence using accounting systems
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
- A proactive mindset and strong organisational capability
