  • A fantastic opportunity for a commercially savvy, CA-qualified finance leader with a Big 4 background to take on a high-impact Financial Controller role within an evolving business.

    About the Company

    Our client is a well-established, forward-looking organisation with operations spanning multiple Australian regions. Currently undergoing a period of transition and growth, the finance function plays a critical role in driving commercial performance, and they are now seeking a Financial Controller to support this next phase.

    This is a 6-month contract with strong potential to convert to a permanent opportunity. Ideal for a finance professional available to commence at short notice.

    About the Role

    Reporting to senior finance leadership, you’ll lead a capable team and take ownership of core financial management functions—combining technical oversight with commercial business partnering.

    Key Responsibilities (not limited to):

    • Own the end-to-end financial control, reporting and compliance processes
    • Lead month-end, year-end, audit and board reporting cycles
    • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis
    • Deliver timely and accurate financial and operational management reporting
    • Provide commercial insight to support operational and strategic decision-making
    • Identify opportunities to improve cost management and operational efficiency
    • Mentor and lead a small finance team
    • Improve systems, processes, and financial governance
    • Support broader finance transformation and strategic initiatives

    About You
    • CA-qualified, ideally trained within a Big 4 or mid-tier chartered environment
    • Proven commercial finance experience in a large  complex business  or project driven environment
    • Skilled at balancing technical rigor with commercial insight
    • Confident working across detail and strategy, with strong communication and leadership presence
    • Hands-on and proactive, with a continuous improvement mindset
