This established and expanding group is entering a structural change phase, creating the need for an experienced Group Financial Controller to provide stability, leadership, and commercial insight. Based in Albion, this initial three-month contract offers a genuine opportunity for extension or permanency as the business evolves.
The role
Reporting to the CFO, you’ll lead and mentor a small finance team while overseeing consolidated group reporting, cash flow management, and performance analysis. You’ll bring structure, rigour, and best practice to financial operations and play a key role in supporting business improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities
• Deliver accurate group management reporting, analysis, and commentary within deadlines
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for group entities
• Manage cash flow and working capital with a strong focus on control and forecasting
• Lead, coach, and develop the finance team to deliver high performance
• Partner with the CFO on strategic initiatives, audit, and governance compliance
• Drive continuous improvement across financial processes and systems
About you
• CA or CPA qualified with extensive commercial finance experience
• Proven leadership experience managing a finance team
• Strong technical accounting and consolidation knowledge
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling capability
• Confident communicator able to influence senior stakeholders
• Adaptable and calm under pressure, particularly during periods of change
