This privately owned group operates a mix of consumer focused brands across Australia and overseas. The business is well established and continuing to evolve its finance capability as it grows in scale and complexity. With a centrally located support office in Brisbane, the team promotes a collaborative environment, flexible working arrangements and a commitment to ongoing improvement. They are now looking for an experienced finance professional to join on an initial six month contract with strong potential for extension or transition to permanent.
The role
In this group level governance position you will take ownership of statutory and regulatory requirements across multiple entities and regions. Partnering closely with senior finance leaders, you will manage lodgements, strengthen policies and support automation projects that enhance accuracy, efficiency and oversight.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and lodge statutory obligations including BAS, GST or VAT, PAYG, royalties and FBT
- Coordinate tax and financial documentation across several countries in accordance with IFRS, AASB and GAAP
- Manage wider governance requirements including payroll tax, WorkCover, Payment Times Reporting and employee share schemes
- Maintain a consolidated compliance calendar covering all regulatory deadlines
- Oversee reconciliation and approval workflows to ensure robust audit trails
- Support intercompany processes including transfer pricing documentation
- Act as a key contact for external auditors and coordinate internal inputs
- Contribute to standardising group wide finance and tax policies and identifying process improvements
- CA or CPA qualified
- At least five years experience in finance, reporting or tax
- Strong technical understanding of IFRS, AASB and GAAP
- Comfortable working across multi entity and multi jurisdiction environments
- Strong communicator with the ability to collaborate effectively across the business
