About the Role
Reporting to the COO, the Head of Credit is accountable for the entire credit lifecycle — from strategy and frameworks to portfolio management, underwriting, provisioning, and collections. This role is both strategic and hands-on, shaping credit outcomes in a regulated environment while enabling strong growth ambitions. You’ll engage directly with ExCo, Board Committees, and regulators, while building a high-performing credit team that underpins sustainable expansion.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and execute credit strategy, policy, and frameworks
- Oversee portfolio performance, provisioning, and stress testing
- Lead underwriting standards, QA, and loss optimisation initiatives
- Partner with Finance, Risk, and Operations to support growth
- Build and mentor a high-performing, scalable credit function
- 10+ years in senior credit risk roles within banking or financial services
- Proven end-to-end ownership of credit lifecycle and governance
- Strong Board, ExCo, and regulator engagement experience (APRA/ASIC)
- Ability to balance growth with prudent risk management
- Inspirational leader with both strategic vision and operational depth
