Job Description:

  • Support reporting, budgeting and analysis for a defined portfolio
  • Build strong relationships with operational leaders and committees
  • Develop your skills with BI tools, reconciliations and stakeholder reporting
  • The Organisation

This organisation operates a broad network of communities across Queensland and is strengthening the financial support provided to operational leaders. As part of this ongoing growth, the finance team is seeking a Junior Management Accountant who is eager to build capability, develop strong reporting skills and take ownership across a defined portfolio.

This role sits within a supportive team, offering hands-on learning, exposure to budgeting and financial statements, and the chance to work closely with a wide range of stakeholders.

    The Role

As the Junior Management Accountant, you will support the delivery of financial reporting, budgeting and analysis for a group of communities. You’ll work with operational managers and committees, ensuring financial information is accurate, clear and delivered within required timeframes.

This is an ideal role for someone early in their management accounting career who enjoys stakeholder engagement, structured processes and developing confidence in portfolio ownership.

    Key responsibilities include:
    • Assisting with the preparation of quarterly financial statements and ad hoc reporting
    • Supporting annual budgeting processes with community leaders
    • Coordinating documentation for annual audits and compliance requirements
    • Using BI dashboards and financial data to support variance analysis
    • Maintaining accurate balance sheet reconciliations and GST coding
    • Being a first point of contact for financial queries across your allocated communities
    • Building positive working relationships to support financial decision-making

    About You

You’re developing your management accounting skill set and are ready for a role that offers exposure, support and growth. You enjoy working with numbers, but also value the people side of finance - explaining outcomes, supporting managers and building confidence in your portfolio.

    You’ll bring:
    • A degree in Accounting or Finance (CA/CPA progress desirable but not essential)
    • Experience in an assistant accountant, accountant or junior management accounting role
    • Strong month-end fundamentals and interest in financial reporting
    • Good Excel capability and willingness to learn BI/reporting tools
    • Strong communication skills and the ability to support non-finance stakeholders
    • A proactive, organised approach and eagerness to develop

    On Offer
    • Clear development pathway and hands-on support
    • Exposure to budgeting, reporting and BI tools
    • Additional wellbeing leave and employee benefits
    • A supportive culture with strong training and mentorship
