The Role
We are seeking an experienced Legal Assistant with experience in wills, estate planning, and probate law to join a supportive and enthusiastic team of partners, associates, and junior lawyers.
In this role, you will support the Estate Planning team in managing estate files, preparing legal documents, filing probate applications, and interacting with clients during sensitive life events. Some property experience would also be advantageous - but not a must!
Key Responsibilities
- Provide proactive administrative support throughout various stages of the estate planning process
- Prepare confidential legal documents including Wills, Powers of Attorney, and Appointments of Enduring Guardianship
- Draft probate court documents, including petitions, notices, and inventories
- Manage client interactions with empathy and professionalism - taking calls, scheduling appointments, and handling enquiries
- Support probate and estate administration processes
- Maintain and organise client files, deadlines, and correspondence (both hard and soft copies)
- Prepare correspondence, take dictation, and draft file notes
- General administrative and secretarial duties
What You Need to Succeed
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a Legal Assistant
- Estate Planning experience is essential
- Understanding of estate planning and administration processes
- Excellent client management and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities
- Proficient in MS Office suite
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team
