The Opportunity
Join a top tier firm and collaborate directly with senior partners and experienced legal professionals in a modern office environment. This role offers the chance to be an integral part of our operational excellence team, providing strategic business support that directly impacts our legal practice's success.
Working alongside Practice Managers, you'll deliver comprehensive, forward-thinking business support to the partnership group and senior legal staff. The position involves close collaboration with Practice Managers to oversee the commercial aspects of legal matters, including detailed client reporting and financial oversight.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Practice Managers to develop deep expertise in their responsibilities and build strong working partnerships
- Handle administrative aspects of matter financials including invoicing, electronic billing systems, monitoring outstanding bills, timesheet compliance, budget forecasting, and matter completion processes
- Provide coverage and continuity during Practice Manager absences
- Coordinate corporate hospitality, industry networking events, client entertainment, and internal team functions
- Manage client administrative requirements throughout matter lifecycles, ensuring seamless service delivery across all teams
- Maintain consistent client experience standards
- Mentor team members and serve as a resource for document preparation, production standards, and operational procedures
- Drive continuous improvement in systems and workflows
What We're Looking For:
- Background in similar support roles, preferably in legal environments (experience in finance, accounting, or professional services also valued)
- Demonstrated commitment to operational excellence and team leadership
- Exceptional written communication and attention to detail, capable of producing correspondence, presentations, and client materials efficiently and accurately
- Strong organisational abilities with proven success in fast-paced, evolving environments
- Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving capabilities and ownership mindset
- Ability to influence and manage relationships across all organizsational levels
