Are you a proactive and detail-focused paralegal ready to take the next step in your career?
We’re looking for a capable and confident Paralegal to join a high-performing legal team based in Newcastle. With flexibility to work either full-time or part-time, and hybrid work arrangements available (minimum 3 days in-office), this role offers the best of both worlds: professional challenge and lifestyle balance.
*This role is based in Newcastle*
Why This Opportunity?
- Tailored career development – From day one, you’ll have access to structured 1:1 mentoring, role-specific e-learning modules, internal and external workshops, and a clearly defined career progression pathway. Your growth is actively supported, not left to chance.
- Flexibility to suit your life – Whether it’s hybrid working (minimum 3 days in-office), compressed weeks, or part-time arrangements.
- Rewarding high performance – Incentive programs that recognise and rewards your contributions, with bonuses tied to performance and outcomes.
- Real employee benefits – Enjoy a range of meaningful perks including 16 weeks of paid gender-neutral parental leave, access to education support, an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), plus special leave days like your birthday off and #4U well-being leave. You’ll also get access to corporate discounts and novated leasing.
- A culture that gives back – Get involved in pro bono work and community-driven initiatives that align with your values and the firm’s social responsibility goals.
- Award-winning workplace – Be part of a firm consistently recognised for its commitment to diversity, equity, and employee well-being – including being named a 5-Star Employer of Choice (2024) and holding the highest proportion of female partners nationally (AFR Partnership Survey 2024).
You’ll work alongside a large and established team, including Partners, Special Counsels, and fellow paralegals. This is a fast-paced environment so we’re looking for someone adaptable, professional, and highly organised.
The focus of your work will include:
- Preparing and assisting with estate planning documents including Wills, Powers of Attorney, and Guardianship appointments.
- Supporting Probate and Letters of Administration applications – from standard matters to more complex estates.
- Managing estate administration: compiling records, tracking assets/liabilities, and liaising with beneficiaries.
- Coordinating files, calendars, and internal processes to help keep things running smoothly.
- Communicating with clients to support the legal team and ensure a seamless experience.
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience (ideally with an Australian legal background)
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive mindset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining accuracy
- High levels of discretion, professionalism, and emotional intelligence
- Experience with corporate clients is highly regarded, especially if you’ve supported property-related estate matters
If you’re an experienced paralegal we’d love to hear from you. This is an excellent opportunity to make an impact within a well-regarded legal team doing meaningful work.
