The Opportunity
This is a rare opportunity for a Procurement Manager to shape and lead the procurement function of a newly established energy business. As part of a tight-knit and highly engaged team, you’ll play a key role in embedding commercial discipline, building supplier relationships, and influencing project success across our operations.
Reporting to the executive team, you’ll own procurement strategy, supplier relationships, compliance, and cost control across the business. With a Storeman already in place on site and support from Legal and Engineering, this role will suit someone ready to be hands-on and influential.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and implement fit-for-purpose procurement policies and processes
- Lead sourcing, tenders, and contract negotiations
- Review and optimise supplier arrangements, building preferred supplier panels
- Manage purchase order execution and logistics
- Coordinate with Operations, Engineering, and Finance to meet project timelines
- Contribute to commercial decision-making and cost control across capital and operational spend
- Monitor compliance, pricing trends, and procurement risks
- Procurement experience in a mining, resources, oil & gas, or project-based environment
- Strong commercial and contract negotiation skills
- Able to work independently and influence others across the business
- Comfortable in a small-team environment and willing to build things from the ground up
- Strong analytical mindset with attention to risk and value-for-money outcomes
