  • Immediate start - initial 3 month contract
  • Based near Croydon Park - parking on-site
  • circa. $60-70 per hour + super
  • We are seeking an experienced Project Safety Officer to conduct a comprehensive safety assessment of a newly relocated warehouse facility.

    This is an immediate-start contract position focused on identifying potential safety hazards, ensuring regulatory compliance, and developing actionable strategies to create a safe working environment.

    Hands-on, standalone role where you'll hit the ground running to support the warehouse during a critical period. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and have strong safety experience within a warehouse environment, we want to hear from you.

    The Role:
    • Conduct thorough safety audits of the new warehouse facility, including layout, equipment, storage systems, and operational workflows
    • Identify potential hazards related to material handling, machinery, fire safety, emergency exits, and general working conditions
    • Review and assess compliance with relevant OH&S legislation, regulations, and industry standards
    • Develop a detailed safety action plan with prioritised recommendations and implementation timelines
    • Collaborate with warehouse management and staff to understand operational processes and safety concerns
    • Prepare comprehensive written reports documenting findings, risks, and corrective measures
    • Provide guidance on safety training requirements for warehouse personnel
    • Recommend necessary signage, PPE, and safety equipment
    • Ensure proper documentation of all safety procedures and protocols
    About you: 
    • Relevant safety qualification (Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or equivalent)
    • Proven experience in warehouse or logistics safety management is essential
    • Strong knowledge of workplace health and safety legislation and standards
    • Experience conducting safety audits and risk assessments
    • Excellent report writing and documentation skills
    • Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines
    • Strong communication skills to engage with staff at all levels
    • Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety
    • Experience with warehouse relocation or new facility setup
    • Knowledge of forklift operations, racking systems, and material handling safety
    This is a standalone role where you'll be trusted to manage independently while reporting to senior stakeholders.
