The Role
In this hands-on role, you’ll take ownership of cost accounting activities, with a strong focus on inventory management, standard costing, and financial reporting for a significant manufacturing operation. Working closely with operations, procurement, and site teams, you’ll ensure robust inventory processes, accurate financial outcomes, and support strategic business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead month-end close processes, balance sheet reconciliations, and reporting packs
- Drive accuracy in standard costing and oversee inventory valuation across sites
- Monitor and analyse inventory movements, variances, and obsolescence provisions
- Partner with procurement on P2P processes to secure critical materials and manage cost impacts
- Analyse freight and production variances, providing insights to support national managers
- Support working capital strategies and ensure strong financial controls within the business unit
- Qualified Accountant (CPA/CA) with demonstrated experience in manufacturing and inventory accounting
- Skilled in standard costing, month-end processes, and balance sheet management
- Strong ERP and Excel capability, confident managing large and complex data sets
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, able to partner across finance, operations, and procurement teams
- Proactive and detail-oriented, with a passion for improving processes and controls
