The Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Senior Finance Officer plays a critical role in supporting the financial operations and compliance activities across the Aged Care division. This role involves hands-on responsibility for resident billing, reconciliations, and reporting, while maintaining a high level of accuracy, empathy, and professionalism.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing financial processes for Aged Care resident admissions, billing, and departures
- Maintaining the Bond Register
- Performing month-end reconciliations including outstanding accounts and bond balances
- Supporting the Finance Manager with government assessments and regulatory reporting
- Investigating and resolving discrepancies independently
- Providing support to system testing and process improvement initiatives
- Ensuring high-quality service to both internal and external stakeholders
The ideal candidate will have experience in financial reconciliations, resident billing, and accounts management, with aged care experience highly regarded. You will demonstrate the ability to work autonomously and proactively resolve issues as they arise. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to liaise effectively with a broad range of stakeholders. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting systems is required, and a commitment to confidentiality, integrity, and high-quality service is expected. An Accounting degree (or equivalent) is required, and progress toward a professional qualification such as CPA or CA will be considered an advantage.
