An industry-leading group with a strong reputation for operational excellence is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join their high-performing finance team.
This is a 6-month fixed-term contract, offering the opportunity to work within a large, complex organisation that values collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. For the right person, there may be scope for longer-term opportunities within the business.
The Role
This hands-on and visible role partners closely with the Financial Controller and wider finance team to deliver accurate financial reporting, compliance, and commercial insight. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the integrity of financial results and supporting critical month-end and year-end processes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering month-end close and producing timely, accurate financial reporting
- Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and transactional outputs
- Managing tax compliance schedules, including BAS, FBT, PAYG, and payroll tax
- Supporting half-year and annual statutory reporting requirements and audit processes
- Ensuring adherence to accounting standards and contributing to process improvement initiatives
You are a technically strong and detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced, commercial environment. You bring a proactive and solution-focused mindset, along with excellent stakeholder communication skills.
You will ideally have:
- A tertiary qualification in Accounting with CA/CPA qualification (or working towards)
- Demonstrated experience as a Financial Accountant or Senior Financial Accountant within a medium to large organisation
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience with statutory reporting and compliance
- Advanced Excel skills and ERP system experience (SAP, Oracle, or similar)
