The Opportunity
This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced environment and wants to lead a team dealing primarily with small-to-medium business insolvency matters. You’ll work closely with directors, creditors, accountants, and legal advisors to manage corporate appointments such as voluntary administrations, liquidations, and small business restructures. You’ll also be a key mentor to junior staff, help refine internal processes, and contribute to the reputation for practical, ethical, and timely solutions.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Manage a portfolio of SME-focused insolvency matters across various sectors
- Conduct investigations, recoveries, and reporting for corporate and personal appointments
- Engage with directors, creditors, staff, and external stakeholders
- Supervise and support junior staff, with a focus on quality and professional growth
- Oversee asset realisations, creditor distributions, and statutory compliance
- Collaborate with Partners and contribute to client relationship development and referral networks
- 5+ years insolvency experience, including team leadership
- CA/CPA qualified or near-completion; ARITA qualification highly regarded
- Proven track record working with SME clients and small business owners
- Strong understanding of the Corporations Act, Bankruptcy Act, and regulatory obligations
- A people person – confident communicator with empathy and professionalism
- Motivated, organised, and thrives on variety and ownership
