Perigon Group is proud to partner with a growing business in Brisbane southside who is currently looking for a Senior Payroll Officer on a 6month Contract with the possibility of extending. This role sits alongside an experienced, tenured, high quality payroll team, in a varied, challenging role.


The Role

This 6-month contract  with the possibility of extending will be suitable for an   experienced payroll professional who will report directly to the Payroll Manager.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Process end-to-end payroll for 1000+ employees on a weekly basis using large ERP systems.
• Ensure compliance with relevant awards, enterprise agreements, tax legislation, superannuation, and Fair Work requirements.
• Review and verify employee timesheets, leave applications, and allowances for accuracy.
• Manage payroll-related reconciliations including PAYG, superannuation, and payroll tax.
• Prepare payroll journals and assist in month-end and year-end financial processes.
• Coordinate Single Touch Payroll (STP) submissions and End of Financial Year (EOFY) processes including payment summaries.
• Respond to complex payroll queries from employees and management in a timely and professional manner.
• Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure confidentiality and data security.
• Assist with audits and provide reports or documentation as required.
• Identify and support payroll system improvements and process enhancements.
• Mentor and support junior payroll staff as required.

• Minimum 4 years of end-to-end payroll experience 
• Tertiary qualified
• High volume end to end payroll processing experience
• Experience with large Payroll ERP systems
• Intermediate excel skills 
• Experience with award, EBA and EA interpretation.
