    A large, professional services firm is expanding its payroll capability and seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join their Brisbane based finance team. This is a hands-on role within a collaborative, process driven environment where accuracy, confidentiality and continuous improvement are highly valued.

       
    The Role

    You will lead and support payroll operations, ensuring accurate and compliant pay runs while partnering closely with HR and Finance. The role involves managing payroll workflows with an outsourced provider, resolving complex payroll queries, and contributing to process improvements and reporting.

    As the Senior Payroll Officer, key responsibilities will include:

    • Oversee payroll activities and coordinate with the outsourced payroll provider to ensure timely, accurate pay runs.
    • Process payroll calculations (new hires, terminations, FTE changes), conduct variance checks and prepare payroll reporting.
    • Maintain payroll records, manage payroll enquiries, and resolve discrepancies with a focus on employee experience and compliance.
    • Assist with leave audits, payroll-related reconciliations, and payroll reporting for management.
    • Drive payroll process improvements and support automation initiatives to improve accuracy and efficiency.
       
    About You
    • Proven payroll experience in a corporate or complex payroll environment.
    • Highly organised, with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to meet strict deadlines.
    • Strong confidentiality, communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
    • Comfortable liaising with stakeholders across HR and Finance.
    • Experience with payroll systems (Preceda experience is advantageous but not required).
    • Strong analytical skills and a proactive, process-improvement mindset.
