  • We are partnering with a well-established organisation that is continuing to invest in its payroll function within a high-performing, supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Payroll Officer who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys taking ownership while building strong stakeholder relationships.

    About the Role

    This is a hands-on, end-to-end payroll role where you will take full ownership of payroll processing across a multi-state environment.

    Offering clear accountability within a strong team support system, you will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure payroll is processed accurately and efficiently, with a focus on consistency, compliance, and continuous improvement.

    Key Responsibilities
    • End-to-end payroll processing using Micropay
    • Full ownership of payroll including multi-state payroll tax for allocated states (QLD, WA, VIC)
    • Strong competency across processing  terminations and redundancies
    • Managing and interpreting WorkCover requirements(essential)
    • Maintaining and improving payroll templates and reporting (confident Excel)
    • Cross-checking timesheets in collaboration with the broader team
    • Ensuring continuity and shared coverage during team absences
    • Identifying issues, problem solving, and process improvement

    About You

    We are seeking someone with strong technical expertise. You will be someone who enjoys collaborating, sharing knowledge, and building positive relationships across the business.

    You will bring:
    • Proven experience in end-to-end payroll processing
    • Strong systems experience (Micropay strongly preferred)
    • Demonstrated experience handling WorkCover matters
    • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and formulas 
    • A solid understanding of payroll processes with the ability to troubleshoot and problem solve
    • High attention to detail and a strong commitment to confidentiality
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
    • A friendly, proactive, and team-oriented approach
    Mandatory Requirements
    • Ability to obtain or hold a Blue Card
