Perigon Group is proud to partner with a growing services business in Brisbane CBD who is currently looking for a Senior Payroll Officer (Projects) on a 18month Fixed Term Contract with the possibility of extending. This role sits alongside an experienced, tenured, high quality payroll team, in a varied, challenging role.


The Role

This  18-month fixed term contract  with the possibility of extending will be suitable for an   experienced payroll professional who will report directly to the Payroll Manager.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Lead or support payroll-specific components of business transformation projects, including system upgrades, transitions, and integrations.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to scope, plan, and deliver payroll initiatives.
• Conduct detailed analysis of payroll data, systems, and processes to identify gaps, risks, and opportunities.
• Assist with the configuration and testing of payroll systems (UAT), ensuring alignment with legislation and business rules.
• Support the interpretation and application of industrial instruments (awards, enterprise agreements) in system design and process changes.
• Develop and document payroll processes, procedures, and user guides.
• Ensure all project deliverables are compliant with relevant legislation, Fair Work requirements, and internal audit standards.
• Provide subject matter expertise to project teams and act as a key liaison between payroll and IT, HR, or external consultants.
• Deliver change management and training support for impacted teams, including workshops or knowledge transfer sessions.
• Track and report on project milestones, risks, and issues.
• Maintain detailed and accurate project records and provide regular updates to leadership.

• Minimum 5 year of end-to-end payroll experience 
• Tertiary qualified
• High volume end to end payroll processing experience
• Experience with large Payroll ERP systems
• Intermediate excel skills 
• Experience with award, EBA and EA interpretation.
