Our client is an Aussie FMCG company, seeking a switched on Company Accountant for a newly created role. The business has continued to do remarkably well despite Covid-19, and are in a strong position to warrant added headcount. The business is also recruiting numerous other newly created positions, testament to the strong position they're in. The role sits within a small but growing finance team of 9, and offers great hands-on development for the successful candidate, with a clear pathway into a Senior Accountant role
The role
Financial Accounting and Reporting
- Preparation of month end accounts
- Maintenance of P&L and the balance sheet
- Reconciliation of general ledger and subledger accounts
- Daily cashflow management and forecasting
- Ownership of rebates, trade spend, supplier recoveries ensuring all transactions recorded in line with commercial agreements
- Assist with the development, maintenance and compliance with internal control processes
- Adhoc support with budgeting, analysis and other requirements of the finance function
- Ensuring compliance with BAS, GST, PAYG, Superannuation, Payroll tax, income tax and FBT.
- Development, maintenance, documentation and ensuring compliance to internal controls,accounting procedures & policies
- Solving technical accounting issues as required
- Responsible for all payroll processing in accordance with the legislation, awards, and employment contracts
- Maintenance of accurate and complete payroll master data in NetSuite and employee files
- Develop and maintain payroll reporting, payroll exception reporting, controls processes to validating accuracy of payroll
About you
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant finance experience
- Professional qualification such as CA or CPA (or part qualified)
- Experience across a SME (ideal but non essential)
- Able to work in Norwest
