Job Description
- Analyse, enhance, and develop HSW documentation and management system for a safe working environment, that is also compliant with government and industry regulations
- Provide subject matter expertise and leadership, driving a positive health, safety and wellbeing culture, leading by example
- Provide expert recommendations on health, safety and wellbeing risk mitigation strategies to the Chief People & Culture Officer and the wider Leadership Team.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with key stakeholders to foster a positive and consultative health, safety and wellbeing culture
- Implement, monitor, and evaluate initiatives to drive performance and compliance improvements through leadership and support
- Develop strategies and procedures that will facilitate a reduction in the occurrence or re-occurrence of workplace injuries and illnesses, and duration of injury/illness
- Enhance WorkCover and RTW strategies to ensure employees remain or return to work at the earliest time possible, and WorkCover Premium is kept at a minimum
- Enhance Wellbeing Program, procedures and resources, including effective communication strategies
- Complete regular HSW reporting that captures risk, hazards, incidents, injuries, compensation, return to work information and provides quality data, analytics and insights
- Build and encourage strategic relationships between the HSW team and other teams, departments, or external organisations to achieve business goals
- Ensure efficient implementation and performance of key health and safety systems and processes
- Support Health and Safety Representatives (HSR) working throughout the organisation
- Collaborate with Learning and Development to identify the appropriate HSW training for employees and managers
- Pursue ongoing development to enhance knowledge of contemporary practices
- Build a cohesive, high-performing HSW team by clarifying accountabilities and managing the team’s performance through coaching, supervision and informal and formal performance feedback and reviews
