The organisation 
Our client is an ASX 20 listed Group that is recognised globally.  With an excellent internal culture, they have a reputation of a leading employer of choice, promoting flexible working as well as learning and development.  They currently seek to recruit a Senior Corporate Accountant (permanent full-time).
The Team
Based in Melbourne, this position sits in a high performing team driving the Group’s statutory reporting, accounting policy and compliance.  The role will focus on resolution of accounting queries from the wider business, creating and maintaining Group’s accounting policies as well as monitoring changes in the accounting environment for the Group.  This position offers great exposure and visibility to the Group's strategy initiatives and a wide range of career development opportunities.
Key Responsibilities will include:
  • Providing technical accounting analysis and advice in relation to business transactions
  • Providing technical accounting advice on financial accounting and reporting obligations
  • Monitoring latest accounting developments and maintaining appropriate Group accounting policies
  • Assisting with internal and external Group reporting obligations
  • Ensuring reports are produced in accordance with statutory, regulatory and agreed customer requirements
  • Supporting preparation of the Group’s statutory financial statements and performance of financial due diligence process
  • Analysing potential business risks, interdependencies, or abnormal occurrences
Skills & Experience
We are looking for an ambitious Professional from Big4/Mid-tier Audit, or from an internal Accounting Policy team.  The ideal candidate will have: 
  • CA/CPA qualification 
  • Previous experience in providing support and advice on complex business transactions and arrangements
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounting/financial reporting standards, especially IFRS 15 & 16
  • Ability to understand and interpret complex commercial arrangements
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and strong communication
