The Role
The increased complexity and scale of the business requires a Senior Tax Manager with a strategic lens to work with the Deputy CFO to envisage the future needs of the tax function as growth opportunities are realised and entities are integrated.
The Senior Tax Manager will implement efficient and effective management of LGIASuper’s obligations and tax risks as outlined in the Tax Risk Management Policy and play a leading role in developing our tax governance framework.
The Senior Tax Manager remit includes:

Management of Business Risk;
  • Compliance with applicable tax legislation
  • Tax return accuracy and working with external advisors
  • Preparation for the ATO’s Combined Assurance Review
  • Assessment of complex tax issues and application of legislation/rulings
Management of Regulatory Deliverables
  • Completion of the Fund’s yearly Income Tax Return
  • Lodgement of the FBT return, ensuring compliance and lodgement deadlines
  • Review of BAS and calculation of monthly PAYG instalments
  • Supervision & lodgement of monthly/annual Payroll Tax Return
  • Administer any overseas tax filing obligations
  • Preparation of AMMA statements
Management of Fund specific tax deliverables
  • The provision of high-level advice on the tax implications of product structures and potential enhancements
  • Collaborate with the DCFO to build up the tax capability within the Financial Accounting team and enhancing the structure and models supporting Effective Tax Rates and the true-up process
  • Compare & monitor unit price tax balances, quality of the monthly tax reports prepared by LGIAsuper’s custodian, maintain up to date tax cost base records for wholesale unit trust investments, in conjunction with the custodians
About You
You will be tertiary qualified in a relevant Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree and be CA/CPA qualified.  You will have a strong background in tax management within a commercial environment or large accounting firm, preferably with exposure to funds management or superannuation industry. You will have significant experience conducting tax assessments, audits, calculations, and projections within multiple categories of tax with demonstrated knowledge of contemporary tax management legislation and models. You will have a proven history of building and maintaining excellent professional relationships and using strong interpersonal skills and ability to gain credibility to build, lead and manage the tax framework.
