Namoi Cotton are Australia’s only ASX listed cotton group, operating a market leading ginning, marketing, and logistics business across New South Wales and Queensland. Recent years has seen Namoi Cotton navigate extreme weather conditions and the events of COVID-19, strategically adopting to new market conditions and restructuring operations. Heading into 2021, Namoi Cotton are led by an experienced executive team and board with a positive view for the future.
The board are looking to appoint a Company Secretary on a permanent full-time basis, to lead the efficient administration of the group. The Company Secretary will play an integral role in supporting the effectiveness of the Board of Directors, to ensure broad policies and procedures are followed and striving to be efficient in coordinating board agenda and briefing materials. Ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory, and governance related tasks will be a key focus of the role.
This role will work closely with the CFO, Managing Director, and Board Members.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Develop a compliant Board reporting schedule
- Develop, implement, and continually monitor appropriate corporate governance standards
- Develop and implement a compliance framework, systems, policies, and procedures
- Provide governance and compliance expertise for the business
You will be an experienced and motivated individual, boasting extensive experience as a Company Secretary for an ASX listed company, with a current working knowledge of Corporations Act 2001 (Cth), ASX Listing Rules and ASX Corporate Governance Principles and Recommendations. You will use your strong commercial acumen to develop key relationships with senior leadership and across the business, driving efficient and cohesive discussions where attention to detail and problem-solving skills will be essential.
The Company Secretary will play an essential role in the Legal and Governance team, so experience across Law, Risk, or Compliance would be desirable.
This role is offered on a full-time basis, with flexible working arrangements. Candidates across South East Queensland are encouraged to apply, however you will need to be available for frequent travel to Toowoomba.
