Job Description

This large diversified infrastructure group is looking for an accountant to join their fixed assets team reporting to the Manager and be part of a huge stage of growth and prosperity the business is currently experiencing. This is a visible and varied role that offers both management and financial accounting and is a pivotal communication role to internal and external stakeholders. With a strong commercial and project focus this is an exciting role in which you will get noticed.
Key responsibilities will include
  • Preparation of end of month processes, including capitalisation of wages, interest and insurance.
  • Delivery of accurate and timely end of month reporting requirements.
  • Process and administer depreciation expenses, forecasting and budgeting, including analysis of variances.
  • Regular WIP review and analysis, including the monthly transfer of Opex to Profit & Loss.
  • Ensure the Fixed Asset Register is reconciled to the general ledger and ensure any variances are investigated and reported in a timely manner.
  • Preparation of capitalisations, audit schedules and asset verification as required.
  • Provide asset valuation support as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of project completion dates in consultation with project managers.
  • Preparation and development of accurate accounting position papers and file notes.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including providing ongoing education of Opex vs. Capex to the wider business.
  • Assist with projects and ad-hoc tasks as required and consult regularly with project managers
  • Work with Finance team members and other key users to identify process improvements.
The successful candidate will have completed a tertiary degree in a relevant discipline in finance or related and be looking to do a CA or CPA ideally. You will have some previous experience in a similar Capital and Asset Administration role, as an Assistant Accountant or as a Project Accountant to be considered. You will have a keen eye for detail but be extremely commercial and pride yourself of building relationships with key stakeholders and be proactive and passionate about enhancing systems and procedures thought a continuous improvement approach.
