Our client is a world leader in their field; an institution which which prides itself on innovation and breaking ground wherein it has continued to garner acclaim in an established sector.
Due to a major project which the current incumbent will be directing their focus to, the opportunity exists for a demonstrated manager to lead a team of 3 direct reports in the group function.
Reporting to the head of Financial Control & Treasury, the Group Reporting Manager provides specialized technical accounting advice to an array of senior internal customers (including Finance Directors and Finance heads and GM's).
This role manages the planning and execution of a complex Group-wide year-end process, including compilation of Group results and liaison with senior external auditor staff.
The role evaluates ongoing changes in Accounting Standards and their implication for the Group, and manages complex internal valuations in the areas of asset investment and impairment, as well as liaising with actuarial consultants to determine valuations for leave and pension liabilities.
You will be called up to drive best practice in capital asset management, (including accuracy of additions and disposals) and manages asset internal verification programs and external asset valuations from expert valuers.
ABOUT YOU(what you possess)
To be successful in this role you will have experience managing a full year-end and Group accounting function within a large, complex business. Ideally you will have a strong technical accounting knowledge from a Big 4/Mid tier audit background with a CA/CPA (or equivalent) qualification.
You will be a well organised and a diligent leader with a proven track record of meeting deadlines. It essential that you have the ability to effectively manage a team of qualified accountants and also influence senior stakeholders across the business.
Significant year-end planning, co-ordination, reporting and audit liaison experience will be neccesary as is a proactive, inquisitive nature in improving existing practices and ensuring compliance across the organisation.
