Job Description
We're looking for a collaborative Lead Database Administrator to own/manage their environment and a small team of SQL administrators.
You will be the owner and the most senior point of contact for all things SQL for the business. The workload is shared across junior members in the team however it is important to educate the team where possible on how to resolve specific issues to improve efficiency.
We're looking for a collaborative leader who can improve inefficiency within their production and support environment.
Skill
- 5+ years of developing and maintaining SQL databases in support of SQL Server 2008 -> 2016 with exposure to statistics, lock management, memory, etc
- 5+ years of creating complex queries in SQL.Windows Server OS
- In-depth knowledge of mirroring, replication, log shipping and AAG
- Experience with encryption and table partitioning
- Experience in upgrading and installing multiple versions of SQL Server
- Proficiency in tasks such as query tuning, indexing and database maintenance activities
- Experience with MS-SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) for database process automation
- Knowledge of best practices regarding security and data regulation
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolution of performance related database issues
- A skilled writer of documentation
- Confident, competent and comfortable managing internal deadlines
- Excited by building global data products – and the challenges that brings
- Process driven and methodical
- Can work autonomously and in a team
These are not mandatory, but desirable:
- In-depth experience building SSRS reports
- Well-versed in implementing new SQL Server features such as Query Store, In-Memory OLTP, etc
- Experience with cloud-based solutions such as AWS and Azure
- Knowledge of New Relic
- Experienced using JIRA and Confluence
- Experienced designing data dashboards
- Experienced in creative data visualisation
