Our Client

Our client is Australia and New Zealand’s largest specialist provider of working capital solutions who offer a comprehensive range of debtor finance, asset finance and trade finance facilities.
  
Their executive management team have more than 100 years of small business finance experience, and they have fully-operational offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Auckland.  Due to growth, a fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Operational Risk Manager to partner heavily across the business. 

The Role
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of comprehensive risk reporting and monitoring framework
  • Reviewing and owning improvements to business related processes and assurance plans
  • Designing the ERM Australian Wealth Management risk reporting templates, dashboards and metrics
  • Assisting with strategic planning process including project and change risk advice, business planning and optimization
  • Assessing the relevance and priority of risks on the various entity risk profiles, for inclusion in the quarterly risk reports and embedding risk appetite monitoring framework
  • Supporting the oversight and verification of incident and issues management
  • ERM framework consultancy including risk profiling, risk assessment, delivering tools and templates, maturity assessments and stress testing
  • Supporting key reporting inputs to Board, Group Risk & Compliance Committee papers
  • Assisting in the identification, setting and achievement of ERM’s strategic priorities
  • Responding to risk issues across the business in conjunction with the Head of Risk
Requirements
  • Strong report writing skills, with the ability to design, develop and implement risk reporting templates, dashboards and metrics
  • Ability to implement, monitor and report on risk management and compliance frameworks, risk and incidents across multiple businesses
  • Strong understanding of the Australian financial services industry
  • Knowledge of and experience with risk management in the financial industry
  • Ability to influence, challenge, consult and advice senior stakeholders, whilst maintaining excellent relationships
Experience required
  • Risk & Compliance experience within Wealth Management Industry (Superannuation Products and Platforms).
  • Strong knowledge and experience in risk reporting
  • Comprehensive knowledge of risk management frameworks, risk management and measurement methodologies and policies
  • Experience and understanding of compliance obligations/requirements (SIS Act, Corps Act etc) and the identification of relevant controls to address obligations
  • Proven ability to manage change effectively
Qualifications

  Degree qualified in Commerce, Business or Law
  • Post tertiary qualifications, e.g. CPA (desired)
  • Expert knowledge of financial services risk and key regulations
