Job Description

The Payroll Systems & Data Specialist is responsible for the assurance of payroll workflows, systems access and data integrity to adequately administer payroll in accordance with the employment contract terms and relevant legislation. This position provides support to the payroll processing team to maintain system configuration and ensure data is accurate and secure in line with organisational policies.

Key Responsibilities will include:
  • Provide specialist payroll oversight, management of HRIS and data and delivery of agreed programs of work.
  • Work collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders to identify appropriate opportunities for continuous improvement of payroll service offering, processes, and procedures 
  • Provide timely technical payroll advice on escalated system matters as required.
  • Provide technical advice across the team and broader stakeholder cohort in relation to technical payroll system matters and considerations.
  • Manage user access, data governance, upgrades, upkeep, configurations, leave groups, testing, upgrades, codification, modules and inter system dependences in Chris21.
  • Participate in process improvement and system enhancements.
  • Understand and implement necessary workflows and controls to comply with regulatory/business changes including legislation changes, workflow management and reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance end-to-end payroll processes & identify and resolve data gaps in Chris21 system.
To be successful in this role,
  • Experience using Chris21 Payroll System or a similar payroll system.
  • 3-5 years demonstrated experience within payroll administration and systems in a mid to large organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience and exposure to complex payroll matters.
  • Strong operational and systems knowledge and experience, including enhancements and workflow straight through processing.
  • Previous payroll compliance exposure and experience.
  • Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, work under pressure, achieve desired outcomes and maintain a positive approach to work in a changing environment.
  • Highly developed numeracy skills coupled with a strong attention to detail and accuracy in the management of data and information.
  • Strong customer service skills including well developed interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) including the ability to foster good working relationships both internally and externally.
  • Experience with projects and change delivery methodologies and frameworks.
