This newly created Procurement Manager role will lead the development of a procurement strategy, which will include in depth business partnering across management and key categories, building out business processes, and establishing efficiencies and appropriate use of the ERP system from a procurement perspective.
The role will also be responsible for leading major vendor relationships and negotiations, striving to meet strategic objects within the corporate and operational sides of the business. With no current centralised procurement function, this is a true Greenfields opportunity, responsible for developing the teams capabilities in critical role working hand in hand with management and key stakeholders.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Establish key business relationships across the organisation, identifying key procurement categories and developing category plans
- Establishing procurement responsibilities, key processes across purchasing and inventory management
- Review and renegotiations of existing contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure on-going value
- Controlling the procurement budget, promoting a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs
- Developing key performance indicators and reports from a procurement perspective
This opportunity is suited to an experienced procurement professional with experience within strategic focused roles in the past. You will be a confident communicator, capable of engaging and extracting key information from stakeholders and aiding decision making, as well as driving cultural change and education on procurement throughout the business. You will have an extensive background in supplier management, negotiations, and networking.
Experience with ERP systems, collecting and analysis of data, and reporting on procurement activity would be ideal.
This role is offered on a 12 month fixed term contract. As this role is developing the function there may be longer term opportunities for this hire in the business. There is a competitive remuneration on offer, depending on experience.
