The Organisation 
Our client is a market leading professional services firm, known for their innovation, high performing staff and supportive & flexible working environment. 

Their global Brand & Communications team is currently seeking a Public Relations Assistant with 1-5 years experience in a corporate or agency role, to join the team on a permanent full time basis. Working as part of a flexible working environment, this role will be eligible or 2 days WFH per week.

The Role

Reporting to the Senior PR Manager, your duties will include;
  • Contribute to the organisations media relations strategy by assisting in the development and implementation of comprehensive plans for external communications
  • Develop and build relationships with key national, business and legal press
  • Handle media enquiries for the practices
  • Proactively pursue all opportunities to maximise coverage by positioning partners as commentators on relevant issues
  • Draft and issue press announcements and organise media briefings
  • Work with BD to help develop thought leadership programmes to build reputation in key industries
  • Maintain excellent relationships with the BD managers to ensure media relations activity is fully aligned to BD strategy
  • Work closely with the Global Head of Media Relations and the global PR team to ensure all activities are globally consistent
  • Continuously monitor, record, track and evaluate coverage
  • Assist in the preparation of weekly coverage and PR activity reports for the global Board and Executive Team
  • Support execution of awards programme
  • Update and maintain key information systems
About You
  • Bachelor degree or higher in communications
  • 1-5 years' experience in a public relations/media role in corporate/in house or agency. 
  • Knowledge of the financial and business media and ideally the legal press
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills
  • High level of confidentiality, discretion and diplomacy
  • Ability to interact at all levels within an organisation
  • Creative and lateral thinker, ability to overcome obstacles
  • Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines and adapt to differing
  • demands
  • Strong decision making ability, demonstrating initiative and ability to be proactive
  • Ability to maintain and sustain relationships and deal effectively with journalists
