You will be required to gain an understanding of research funding, including compliance requirements, spending time frames and allowable expenditure to proactively identify, mitigate and manage compliance tasks.
You will utilise strong communication skills to interpret funding contracts and convey project budget information in a meaningful and understandable way for non-finance stakeholders to facilitate better financial management.
In addition you will prepare financial statements to ensure financials and expenditure is accurately recorded, you will receipt research monies from granting bodies to appropriate projects as well as reconcile accounting transactions.
Finally you will conduct analysis to ensure compliance and mitigate financial risks. You will assist with budget preparation, perform cash flow analysis and assist with regular forecasts.
To be considered for this role you will be CA/CPA qualified (or studying towards). You will have experience in project or research accounting. You will have a high level of written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence non finance stakeholders. Previous understanding of complex research funding and associated financial management will be advantageous.
