A privately owned Australian business operating within the development and construction sector is seeking an Accountant to join its Brisbane-based finance team.
Working closely with development partners across a growing pipeline of projects, the organisation has established a strong reputation within the market and continues to expand its operations. The finance team plays a key role in supporting project delivery, financial reporting and operational decision-making across the business.
The Role
This role sits within a small, collaborative finance team and provides exposure to a broad range of core accounting activities. Working closely with senior finance leadership, you’ll contribute to the delivery of accurate financial reporting while supporting day-to-day finance operations.
The position offers a mix of transactional and month-end responsibilities, with opportunities to develop your technical capability while gaining insight into how finance supports a project-driven business environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Processing daily banking allocations and account reconciliations
- Preparing journals and supporting month-end close activities
- Completing balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining schedules
- Supporting BAS preparation and compliance processes
- Assisting with weekly cashflow forecasting and monitoring
- Managing corporate credit card reconciliations and payments
- Supporting accounts payable processes where required
- Assisting with ad hoc accounting tasks and finance projects
About you
You’re a motivated accounting professional who enjoys working in a collaborative team and contributing to accurate financial reporting.
You will bring:
- 2+ years’ experience in an accounting or finance role
- A degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Solid Excel capability and experience with accounting systems
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- A proactive approach to problem solving and task management
