The Role
Reporting directly to a highly experienced Financial Controller, this role has been deliberately designed as a hands‑on development opportunity. You will support the Financial Controller across end‑to‑end financial operations while gaining increasing exposure to reporting, analysis, forecasting, and commercial decision‑making.
This is a broad, non‑siloed role offering visibility across the business. You will be involved in the detail while also developing a strong understanding of how finance underpins performance and growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting month‑end close, including journals, accruals, reconciliations, and review of financial results
- Preparation of cashflow reporting, cost of goods sold analysis, and inventory reconciliations
- Assisting with budgeting, rolling forecasts, and management reporting
- Accounts payable and accounts receivable management, including payment runs and collections
- Payroll journal processing and coordination with an external payroll provider
- Preparation of BAS and IAS
- Supporting inventory reporting and stocktake activities
- Ad hoc financial analysis and support of commercial decision‑making
- Assisting with year‑end processes and liaison with external accountants
- Supporting finance systems administration and continuous process improvement
About You
- Part‑qualified CA or CPA, or currently working towards qualification
- Experience as a Finance Officer or Assistant Accountant, or within Business Services or Tax with a desire to move into a commercial industry role
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Naturally curious, proactive, and keen to develop technical and commercial capability
- Confident communicator who works well across a collaborative, high‑performing team
