A well-established Australian business with operations across multiple locations is seeking an Accountant to join its Brisbane-based finance team.
The organisation operates within a fast-paced, product-driven environment and has built a strong reputation for quality and continuous improvement. With an ongoing focus on enhancing financial processes and supporting operational performance, the finance team plays a key role in maintaining accuracy, control and visibility across the business.
The Role
This is a hands-on role within a collaborative finance team, supporting the delivery of accurate financial reporting and day-to-day finance operations.
You’ll work closely with the Financial Accountant and broader business to ensure processes run smoothly, while also contributing to improvements across systems, reporting and controls. The role offers exposure across multiple areas of finance and suits someone who enjoys variety and being involved in the detail.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting accounts payable and receivable processes, including reviews and reconciliations
- Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining financial schedules
- Assisting with cashflow management, bank reconciliations and treasury support
- Managing intercompany transactions and reconciliations
- Supporting fixed asset accounting and capital tracking
- Assisting with statutory obligations including BAS and other compliance requirements
- Supporting debtor management and reporting activities
- Assisting with audit preparation and finance-related projects
- Contributing to process improvements and system enhancements
About you
You’re a detail-oriented accountant who enjoys working across multiple areas of finance and being part of a team that supports the broader business. You’re comfortable working with data, managing deadlines and getting involved in both transactional and reporting tasks.
You will bring:
- 3–5 years’ experience in an accounting or finance role
- Degree qualification in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
- CA/CPA qualification (or working towards) preferred
- Strong Excel skills and experience working with accounting systems
- High attention to detail and strong organisational capability
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders
- A proactive approach and willingness to support across the finance function
