An opportunity has become available for an Accountant to join the Brisbane finance function of an internationally connected organisation.
Working as part of a close-knit finance team, you'll gain exposure across a broad range of accounting activities rather than being limited to one area. The position offers a good balance of financial accounting, transactional oversight and reporting, with support from experienced finance professionals as you continue developing your career.
For someone with a couple of years' experience looking for broader commercial exposure and a clear next step, this role offers plenty of variety and room to develop.
The Role
You'll support the finance team across day-to-day accounting requirements while progressively taking greater ownership of reporting and month-end activities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting month-end close and general ledger activities
- Preparing bank, supplier and intercompany reconciliations
- Assisting across accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Monitoring cash positions and supporting payment processes
- Assisting with payroll accounting and related reporting
- Supporting BAS and other statutory requirements
- Preparing information and schedules for audit and year-end
- Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting documentation
- Working with the broader finance team to resolve accounting queries and improve processes
About you
This role would suit an early career Accountant who has developed a solid grounding in accounting and is now looking for an environment where they can broaden their experience.
You'll ideally have:
- 3+ years in a similar role
- A degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
- Commenced CA/CPA studies, or the intention to commence
- Good Excel skills and confidence learning new systems
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- A proactive approach and willingness to take ownership
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
