We're partnering with a large, highly regarded organisation to recruit an experienced Financial Accountant for a 3-month contract opportunity based in Brisbane CBD. This role offers flexibility around how and when you work, making it ideal for professionals seeking a quality contract position without the commitment of a full-time schedule.
Whether you prefer three full days per week or would like to spread your hours across multiple days, the business is open to tailoring the arrangement for the right candidate.
The Role
Joining a collaborative and high-performing finance team, you'll provide hands-on support across financial reporting, month-end activities, reconciliations, and compliance requirements during a busy period.
This role will suit a technically strong accountant who can quickly integrate into an established team and add value from day one.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Prepare month-end journals, accruals and prepayments
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances
- Assist with monthly and statutory financial reporting requirements
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities
- Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation calculations
- Assist with audit preparation and audit requests
- Review and improve financial processes and controls
- Support compliance obligations and reporting deadlines
- Partner with internal stakeholders across the business to provide financial insights and support
About You
Skills and Experience:
- CA or CPA qualification (essential)
- Previous experience in a Financial Accountant role within a medium to large organisation
- Strong financial reporting and month-end experience
- Excellent reconciliation and analytical skills
- Advanced Excel capability
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Availability to commence at short notice preferred
