Flexible School Friendly Hours | Part-Time Opportunity | Varied Finance & Operations Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accounts Officer to join a professional and growing business based in Brisbane CBD.
This is a hands-on, varied position suited to someone who enjoys balancing bookkeeping responsibilities with broader office management and operational support. Working closely with a small, high-performing team, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of the finance function while contributing to the smooth day-to-day running of the business.
The Opportunity
This role is offered on a part-time basis, ideally working school-friendly hours of approximately 9:00am – 2:30pm, 4–5 days per week, based in the office. The primary focus is bookkeeping and finance administration, complemented by office management and operational support responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities Finance & Bookkeeping
- Xero reconciliations and credit card processing
- BAS preparation and lodgement
- End-of-month reconciliations and reporting support
- Preparation of draft management reports, including cash flow and aged receivables reporting
- Accounts receivable management and debtor follow-up
- Supplier and client setup and maintenance within Xero
- Liaising with external accountants and payroll providers
- Payroll administration support
- Maintaining financial records and compliance documentation
- Assisting with process improvements across the finance function
- Acting as the first point of contact for office enquiries
- Coordinating staff onboarding and offboarding activities
- Maintaining employee records and documentation
- Managing office suppliers, service agreements and workplace facilities
- Supporting workplace health and safety administration
- Assisting with diary management, travel bookings and meeting coordination
- Preparing presentations and business documentation
- Supporting marketing initiatives, events and social media activity
- Proven bookkeeping experience
- Strong Xero skills
- Sound knowledge of BAS, reconciliations and month-end processes
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- A proactive, hands-on approach with a continuous improvement mindset
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
- Previous experience in a professional services environment will be highly regarded
