Our client is a founder-led group spanning construction and property development. This Company Accountant role offers the chance to run the finance function end-to-end while working closely with a high-performing, strategic CFO. It's hands-on and varied, spanning transactional processing through to management reporting, budgeting, and commercial decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee payroll, AP, AR, bank reconciliations, and end-of-month processes
- Prepare monthly balance sheets, P&L statements, WIP reports, and margin analysis
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Job-cost invoices and track project expenses for accurate margin reporting
- Oversee insurances, regulatory reporting, and Project Trust Account compliance
- Review construction contracts, variations, and claims alongside project and commercial teams
- Prepare and lodge BAS, payroll tax, and other statutory compliance obligations
- Maintain the fixed asset register and depreciation schedules
- Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making
- CA/CPA qualified or near completion
- Experience as an Accountant in construction or a related industry
- Understanding of project costing, margin reporting, and subcontractor retention processes
- Skilled in cash flow management, budgeting, and forecasting
- Confident working independently and building strong stakeholder relationships
- Reporting directly to the CFO
- Exposure to diverse projects and commercial operations
- Broad scope spanning transactional finance through to strategic decision-making
