A well-established Australian organisation operating within the heavy industry sector is seeking a Credit Controller to join its Brisbane based finance team.
With a long standing reputation for operational excellence, the business supports a large national customer base and continues to invest in strengthening its finance and credit functions. This role sits within a collaborative team and plays an important part in supporting working capital management and maintaining strong customer relationships.
The Role
Reporting to the Credit Manager, the Credit Controller will be responsible for managing customer accounts, supporting collections activity and maintaining strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and external customers.
This role suits someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment where communication, organisation and attention to detail are key.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing customer accounts and following up outstanding invoices
- Issuing statements and payment reminders in line with credit terms
- Investigating and resolving disputed invoices or short payments
- Allocating incoming payments and reconciling customer accounts
- Maintaining strong customer relationships to support timely payment
- Escalating high-risk or overdue accounts where required
- Assisting with credit applications and limit reviews
- Supporting reporting on aged receivables and collections activity
- Assisting with month-end processes and audit requirements
About you
You’re a proactive credit professional who enjoys balancing strong customer relationships with effective collections management.
You will bring:
- Experience in credit control, collections or accounts receivable
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple accounts and competing priorities
- Experience working with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Confidence liaising with both internal teams and external customers
