  • A values-driven, not-for-profit aged care organisation based in Melbourne’s south-east is seeking a Finance Business Partner to support its growing Support at Home and aged care services.

    This is a hands-on role ideal for a commercially minded accountant who enjoys variety, thrives in change, and is comfortable stepping in wherever needed. Experience in home care / community aged care is highly desirable, with residential exposure considered a bonus rather than essential.

    The Opportunity
    Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and compliance across government-funded aged care programs. You’ll partner closely with operational leaders to provide meaningful insights, strengthen financial capability, and support decision-making across the organisation.

    This role suits someone adaptable, collaborative, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment where priorities can shift.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Lead annual budgeting, forecasting and ongoing financial performance monitoring
    • Prepare and review monthly journals and manage month-end close processes
    • Compile monthly management reports with clear analysis and commentary
    • Partner with operational and program managers to deliver value-driven reporting
    • Prepare balance sheet and sub-ledger reconciliations
    • Cash flow forecasting and financial analysis
    • Contribute to Quarterly Financial Reports (QFR) and Aged Care Financial Reports (ACFR)
    • Manage BAS preparation and submission
    • Support government funding, grant and ad hoc compliance reporting
    • Compile data for sector benchmarking and audit readiness
    About You
    You are a flexible, solutions-focused accountant who enjoys working closely with non-finance stakeholders and can comfortably balance operational detail with higher-level analysis.

    You will ideally bring:
    • Proven experience in management accounting, reporting and budgeting
    • Aged care experience, with a strong preference for home care / community care exposure
    • Understanding of government-funded or grant-based environments
    • Strong Excel capability and experience with financial systems
    • Working knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and compliance requirements
    • A collaborative mindset and willingness to take on varied responsibilities
