This is a hands-on role ideal for a commercially minded accountant who enjoys variety, thrives in change, and is comfortable stepping in wherever needed. Experience in home care / community aged care is highly desirable, with residential exposure considered a bonus rather than essential.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and compliance across government-funded aged care programs. You’ll partner closely with operational leaders to provide meaningful insights, strengthen financial capability, and support decision-making across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting and ongoing financial performance monitoring
- Prepare and review monthly journals and manage month-end close processes
- Compile monthly management reports with clear analysis and commentary
- Partner with operational and program managers to deliver value-driven reporting
- Prepare balance sheet and sub-ledger reconciliations
- Cash flow forecasting and financial analysis
- Contribute to Quarterly Financial Reports (QFR) and Aged Care Financial Reports (ACFR)
- Manage BAS preparation and submission
- Support government funding, grant and ad hoc compliance reporting
- Compile data for sector benchmarking and audit readiness
You are a flexible, solutions-focused accountant who enjoys working closely with non-finance stakeholders and can comfortably balance operational detail with higher-level analysis.
You will ideally bring:
- Proven experience in management accounting, reporting and budgeting
- Aged care experience, with a strong preference for home care / community care exposure
- Understanding of government-funded or grant-based environments
- Strong Excel capability and experience with financial systems
- Working knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and compliance requirements
- A collaborative mindset and willingness to take on varied responsibilities
