A values-driven organisation operating within the aged care sector is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join its senior finance team. The business places strong emphasis on financial governance, service quality and compliance, and works closely with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
This is a key leadership role supporting financial operations, reporting and regulatory requirements in a complex, highly regulated environment.
The Role
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Finance Manager will oversee financial operations for a defined service stream and play a critical role in ensuring accurate reporting, strong controls and timely regulatory submissions.
The role combines hands-on financial management with leadership, stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement, and will suit someone with proven aged care experience who is comfortable operating in a compliance-focused environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing month-end processes, reconciliations and financial reporting
- Reviewing P&L results, balance sheets and supporting analysis
- Managing billing, income recognition and related financial registers
- Preparing regular financial reports, commentary and benchmarking analysis
- Coordinating regulatory and statutory financial submissions
- Supporting internal and external audit processes
- Establishing and maintaining strong financial controls and documentation
- Identifying process improvement opportunities and implementing change
- Contributing to budgeting and forecasting activities
- Leading, supervising and developing a small specialist finance team
- Acting as a senior finance contact for operational and executive stakeholders
About You
You’re a confident finance leader with a strong technical foundation and demonstrated experience in the aged care sector. You’re comfortable balancing detailed financial management with broader oversight, and you understand the importance of compliance, accuracy and stakeholder communication in a regulated environment.
You’ll bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance
- CA or CPA qualification
- Essential: experience in aged care finance, including exposure to funding, compliance and reporting requirements
- Strong understanding of financial controls, reconciliations and governance
- Proven ability to lead, supervise or develop finance team members
- Excellent communication skills and confidence working with diverse stakeholders
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with high attention to detail
- Ability to manage competing deadlines and regulatory obligations
